Which surface mounted linear light suits the space?
The ceiling and environment determine the suitable models. A classroom luminaire, a protected batten and an architectural profile solve different installation needs.
Choose the protection required
Aegis provides IP65 and IK08 protection in 4 ft and 5 ft lengths. Glide is a 4 ft aluminium LED batten with four output packages for commercial interiors. Check the environment before choosing between them.

Ceiling fixing and wiring
Plan the surface mounted lighting installation
Check the ceiling construction, fixing centres and cable entry for the selected luminaire. Nominal length helps compare products; use the product dimensions for the final installation. Repeated individual luminaires and butt-joined profiles need different fixing and wiring arrangements.

Surface mounted linear lighting FAQs
Can linear LED lights be surface mounted?
Yes. Aegis, Glide, Uni-Fit and Brilliance offer surface mounting. Select the family for the environment and ceiling layout, then check its fixing details and cable entry. Surface mounting fixes the luminaire to the ceiling rather than recessing its body or hanging it on a suspension kit.
Which lengths and colour temperatures are available?
Aegis comes in 4 ft and 5 ft lengths; Glide is 4 ft. Both are listed here at 4000K. Uni-Fit offers nominal 1200 mm and 1500 mm lengths, while Brilliance adds 850 mm and 2500 mm. Uni-Fit and Brilliance offer 3000K and 4000K models.
Can I specify DALI, Casambi or presence sensors?
DALI is an option across all four families. Aegis, Uni-Fit and Brilliance also list Casambi options. Uni-Fit's standard motion-sensor options are not available with its SwitchDIM/DALI/DSI dimming configuration. State the intended control system so the driver and sensor combination can be checked.
Is emergency lighting available?
All four families list emergency options, selected with the product configuration. Normal lighting dimming and emergency testing are separate decisions: a DALI dimming option does not itself specify DALI emergency testing. Include the required emergency arrangement in your enquiry.
Can surface mounted luminaires form a continuous line?
Brilliance lists 90° and 180° butt-joint kits for joined arrangements. Confirm the complete layout and wiring rather than treating repeated battens as a continuous lighting system. If you need a modular continuous system, compare the wider linear lighting range before fixing the specification.
What do I need to request a quote?
Name a product family or describe the space. Add the quantity, length, controls, emergency requirement and required date if known. A finished lighting plan is not needed to start an enquiry; include drawings if you already have them. Each product pricing link keeps its family name in the contact form.
