Aegis is a range of 4 ft and 5 ft commercial LED batten lights with a sealed, vapour-proof body. The IP65 and IK08 ratings, lumen output and mounting accessories support selection for commercial and industrial working areas.
The range reaches up to 161 lm/W and has a rated lifetime above 50,000 hours to L70. Surface mounting is standard, with suspension and corner-mounting kits available where the building layout requires a different installation.

Aegis is a protected linear fitting for commercial and industrial areas that need broad, practical illumination from a sealed body. Typical applications include warehouse aisles, workshops, plant rooms, back-of-house spaces, service corridors and covered operational areas where dust, moisture or routine knocks make an open office fitting unsuitable.
The elongated batten distributes light along a working area or circulation route. Compact bulkhead lights suit a different footprint, while high-bay luminaires serve taller industrial spaces. Mounting height, required illumination and light distribution determine which format fits the application.

Record the existing 4 ft or 5 ft fitting, lamp arrangement, circuit load and fixing positions. The replacement should then be checked against the required lumen output and spacing rather than selected as a nominal wattage swap.

Product type
Is an LED batten the same as a bulkhead?
No. An LED batten is an elongated linear fitting designed to distribute light along a route or working area. A bulkhead has a more compact footprint. Compare the light distribution, mounting height and required coverage when choosing between them.
Length
Should I choose a 4 ft or 5 ft LED batten?
The existing fitting length is useful for planning a refurbishment, but it does not determine the replacement output. Aegis is available in 4 ft and 5 ft versions with several lumen packages, so the lighting calculation, spacing and mounting height should determine the final model.
Environment
When is an IP65 batten light appropriate?
An IP65 fitting can be suitable where the specification calls for protection against dust and water ingress. The complete installation and mounting position still need to be reviewed for the actual environment; the rating should not be treated as a substitute for a project assessment.
Upgrade
Can Aegis replace a fluorescent batten fitting?
It can form part of a fluorescent-to-LED upgrade, subject to a survey and lighting check. Record the old lamp arrangement, controls, emergency function and fixing points, then compare the proposed LED batten light by delivered lumens and layout rather than wattage alone.
Light colour
What colour temperature is the Aegis range?
The current 4 ft and 5 ft Aegis models are specified at 4000K, a neutral-white CCT widely used for task-focused commercial spaces. Colour temperature should still be coordinated with adjacent lighting where the batten fitting forms part of a larger refurbishment.
Emergency
Can the LED batten include emergency lighting?
Emergency and DALI emergency configurations are available within the Aegis range. The emergency-lighting design should identify which fittings require this function and confirm the operating mode, test arrangement and product schedule before the installation is priced.
