Choose the family
Start with the required downlight size, IP rating and diffuser format: Trio, Lumi or compact Nova.
Commercial downlight selection
Compare Trio, Lumi and Nova across their complete current model lists, from 750 to 4,800 lumens, with switch-selectable, fixed-CCT and tunable-white specification routes.
Trio
Lumi
NovaThree specification routes
Trio and the principal Nova model provide multiple colour temperatures from one luminaire. This lets the selected setting be confirmed during commissioning while keeping one product route in the schedule.
Lumi lists separate 3000K and 4000K base models at four output levels, with a tunable-white DALI option where dynamic colour-temperature control is required.
The correct choice depends on more than the Kelvin value. Output, power, aperture or body format, dimming, emergency gear and control protocol all need to remain aligned with the project brief.
Selection sequence
Resolve the physical format and light output before locking the colour and control options.
Start with the required downlight size, IP rating and diffuser format: Trio, Lumi or compact Nova.
Match lumen package and power to the calculation, ceiling height, spacing and intended light level.
Decide between an on-product selectable setting, a fixed 3000K or 4000K model, or tunable white.
Record phase-cut, DALI, Casambi and emergency requirements against the selected family.

Colour-temperature planning
The selected Kelvin value should be deliberate and repeatable across the project.
Confirm the physical downlight family before using colour temperature as the deciding filter.
Compare lumen packages within the chosen family against the lighting calculation.
Choose the target CCT for the space and record it in the schedule rather than leaving it implicit.
For switch-selectable models, state who will set and verify the final position during commissioning.
Align phase-cut, DALI, SwitchDIM, DSI or Casambi requirements with the selected family.
Add the correct emergency suffix and confirm its interaction with the wider project specification.
Frequently asked questions
Key distinctions between the three current commercial downlight families.
Trio provides 3000K, 4000K and 5500K settings. NOVA.001 provides 3000K, 4000K and 5700K settings.
Lumi lists separate 3000K and 4000K base models at each output level and also offers a tunable-white DALI option.
Lumi extends to 4,800 lumens through LUMI.008. Trio reaches 2,275 lumens and Nova reaches 850 lumens.
Yes. All three families list emergency routes, but the suffixes differ, so use the options shown against the selected family.
Trio, Lumi and Nova each list a /BTC Casambi-compatible wireless control option.
Use the Lumi /T+DALI route where the project requires controlled adjustment of colour temperature rather than a single commissioned setting.
