How Our Track Lighting Calculator Works

This guide focuses exclusively on Stucchi track infrastructure—including track modules, connectors, power-feeds, supports and accessories.

1. Introduction: Why You Need Every Stucchi Track Component

Selecting the appropriate Stucchi track components is essential for a flexible, adaptable and professional installation.

Whether lighting a retail display, gallery wall, kitchen or studio, the right combination of track sections, connectors, power-feeds and support accessories delivers reliable performance.

In this guide, we detail every track part you will require and show how our Track Builder calculator will generate a precise parts list tailored to your project.

2. Core Track Sections: Modular Lengths

2 m vs 1 m Stucchi Track Modules

Stucchi track is supplied in 2 m and 1 m extruded aluminium lengths to minimise voltage drop and waste.

2 m modules (codes 9000A-2/W-ST or 9000A-2/B-ST) suit long, straight runs, while 1 m modules (codes 9000A-1/W-ST or 9000A-1/B-ST) cover any remaining length under 2 m, eliminating on-site splicing.

How the Calculator Determines Your Modules

  1. Multiplies your chosen run length (straight, L-shape or U-shape) by the number of runs.

  2. Divides the total metres by 2 m and rounds down to calculate the number of 2 m modules.

  3. Adds one 1 m module if there is any remainder.

This procedure ensures you will have the exact track length needed with minimal cutting on site.

3. Power and Safety: Feed‑Ends & End‑Caps

Feed‑Ends (Power Feeds)

Every track run must include a feed‑end (codes 9001/W or 9001/B) to connect to the mains supply or driver. For DALI or 0–10 V dimmable systems, choose a feed‑end with integrated control electronics.
Number of feed‑ends = number of runs.

End‑Caps

Terminate live conductors safely with end‑caps (codes 9004/W or 9004/B). These protect against exposed conductors and complete the circuit.
Number of end‑caps = number of runs.

4. Joining Sections: Connectors & Corners

Straight Connectors

To maintain electrical continuity between two modules—either 2 m–2 m or 2 m–1 m—use a straight connector (codes 9003/W or 9003/B).
Straight connectors = total modules – number of runs.

Corners for L‑Shape or U‑Shape Layouts

  • Adjustable corner (codes 9018/W or 9018/B) for ±45° flexibility.

  • Fixed L‑connector (codes 9011/W or 9011/B) for a strict 90° angle.

For an L‑shape you need one corner; for a U‑shape you need two per run:
Corners for U‑shape = runs × 2.

5. Structural Support: Fix‑Points, Suspension Kits & Clamps

Support Every Two Metres

To keep the track level and free of sag, support it at approximately 2 m intervals:

  • Fix‑point bracket (9000/BP-D-W or 9000/BP-D-B)

  • 2 m suspension kit (SUS.TRK/2M) with drop rod and anti‑twist hardware

  • Fast clamp with clutch (S-9000/114-T/W or S-9000/114-T/B)

Fix‑points = suspension kits = fast clamps = ceiling run length ÷ 2 m, rounded up.

6. On‑Site Flexibility: Conductor Cutting Tool

Even with accurate orders, you may need to trim a few centimetres to fit walls or obstacles.

The S-9000/T conductor-cutting tool cleanly cuts through both aluminium track and copper conductors. One tool is included per quotation to ensure your installation team is fully equipped.

7. Advanced Track Variants: Three‑Circuit & DALI‑Ready

Three‑Circuit Track

Three‑circuit track features three independent live conductors, allowing separate switching for different zones—ideal for theatres, exhibition areas or multipurpose rooms.

DALI/Data‑Ready Tracks

Certain Stucchi track sections include a fourth low-voltage data conductor pre‑wired for DALI or DMX control, enabling individual fittings to respond to digital commands for dimming or dynamic effects.

8. Step‑by‑Step: Using the Stucchi Track Builder Calculator

  1. Select shape: straight, L‑shape (1 corner) or U‑shape (2 corners per run).

  2. Enter length in metres (for L/U shapes, one leg).

  3. Choose finish: white (W) or black (B).

  4. Click “Calculate parts”.

The calculator outputs:

  • 2 m & 1 m track modules

  • Feed‑ends & end‑caps

  • Straight connectors & corners

  • Fix‑points, suspension kits & fast clamps

  • Conductor cutting tool

9. Frequently Asked Questions

Which Stucchi track parts do I need? Use the calculator—input your shape, length and finish to get the complete list.
Why choose 2 m over 1 m modules? 2 m modules reduce joint losses; 1 m modules cover odd lengths.
Can I use emergency lighting on Stucchi track? Yes—track‑mounted emergency modules clip straight into the feed-end without extra wiring.
Adjustable corners vs fixed L-connectors? Adjustable corners suit irregular layouts; fixed L‑connectors create precise 90° bends.
How many support points are required? One support every 2 m of track, rounded up, to prevent sagging.
